Your earliest memory

Post by Saint on Thu Dec 16, 2010 8:57 am

What is the oldest event you can clearly recall?

Mine is the night of my younger brother's birth. It was 1991 December and I was 4 years old.
I remember they took my mum to the hospital and I was thinking of a name for my brother. What I was doing was basically reading random names from the newspaper wishing to find a cool one. Laughing

It's hard for me to place my early memories at a certain age or point of time..
One of the oldest memories must be a kindergarten.. It was lunch time and everyone had to pick their food by the name tag in front of the bowl. Sadly I couldn't read so I had a hard time finding my food, became a bit confused and had to wait until everyone else had taken their food. xD
I don't remember the exact year, though.. I must've been 3 of 4 years old.

My oldest memory is from the daycare center in my school, I was 2, maybe 3 and we were learning how to put our coats on. We had to spread them on the floor, put our arms in the sleeves and then pull them over our heads.

Kindergarten, three memories come to mind, don't know which one is earlier:

- Getting shoved on the floor by some bully (I became friends with the guy later on in primary school though).
- Me getting my nails polished in soft sparkly pink by the kindergarten teacher for whatever reason.
- Me having to read in front of all the other classes (1st to 6th grade) because I could read fluently at level 9+ in kindergarten.

Man, I also remember this booklet about Galileo Galilei I used to carry everywhere. That guy (and Copernicus too, who got mentioned in it) was my hero.
