Vista=JK2??

Ok...

so if i have 8800GTS (G92) and installed Vista on my desktop...will i be able to run JK2?
I havent explored Vista enough but my friends are pretty excided about it.

So what do u know, is it runable on vista with that GPU???

m8 8800GTS with the new core is pure pwnage ! can run Vista with any game playing in high graphics. If the JK2 is supported from Vista im sure u can play it easily and pleasant. whats ur RAM btw?

I bought a vista for about 2 months ago. The computer I bought should be like 7x times better than my old. So I was abit excited, althou one of my friends warned me about vista. I didn't think it could be so bad, I mean, Im going from like 512 mb RAM to 3 gb.

Anyways, Now, I cant play some games that I have. This Vista finds them too old. I can play JK2, but I cant download things to it such as the hilt client for private duels.

And the worst fucking part is that vista is blocking itself from working. EVERY FUCKING THING YOU DO, you have to press allow four times. It can be when you insert the fucking disc to a game.

I installed WC3 on my computer too. The insallation worked well and I launched the game. When I try to connect to battle.net it say that I need more space on my computer. Im like " wtf, ive like 150 GB left. ". I check again, yeah more than 150 GB left. I launch it again, still same shit. I get mad and give up.

Next day I play JK2. After about a half our I get bored and quit it. I wanna play WC3. But I know it wont work, but I try one last time. And now when I put in the disc in the computer,I press autorun and it works to play on battle net. But if I dont start via autorun it wont work. - Thats vista baby.

I could talk more more more more and fucking more about how much Vista sucks. But I think this is enough.

planning on buying new desktop. I have shitty hp notebook now and it is getting old. I allready have in mind the configuration (btw 4 gb ram) and this is just something i need to get before xbox.

but my question is will JK2 handle Vista??? Someone on Ca forums wrote he has problems running the game on Vista.

Yea, one of the worst things is that you have to give permission for everything, even removing your own files.
jk2 works fine on vista for me tho.

How about deactivating it?

Just go to user accounts and deactivate UAC

And I did not have any problems on my laptop with jk2.

I still prefer Xp though

actually one of ur arguments made me change my mind about buying next laptop and ill go with desktop (i can still use my old laptop for other things)

I don't use the laptop for gfx works and jk2 can't be considered as a heavy game.

Haven't touched the laptop since school ended.

try Vista and if u cant make it work properly or u start to hate Vista already, i would make two partitions with Vista and XP (its the best solution by far if u want that much to install Vista on ur PC)

Falcon has Vista.. JK2 works fine on it. But what i saw, for every thing he wanted to do, he needed to give permission, like Achilles and Merc says. It's pretty annoying... i hate when something like that happens and I have XP >.> Vista no fuckin way...
