I got this friend who searches in stores for the most expensive software that he would never use, goes home and downloads it. For no other reason than robbing the company.

wtf i downloaded cod4 from there.. and no trojans or anything o_0

doesnt matter, i've got like 7 anti-virus programs and all say my comp is clean now.

Kay,

1) Running multiple anti-virus programs is a fucking stupid thing to do. You should only have one. When you run more than one, they conflict with each others virus databases, cause your system to hang, and can even do worse damage.

2) I have downloaded HUNDREDS of torrents and not ONCE have I gotten a virus. It's not rocket science, just always click 'Details' or 'Info' on a torrent to look at the files the torrent contains before downloading.

3) Configuring a torrent program to work at the best speeds takes lots of tweaking. uTorrent is by far, the best torrent program I've come across in features, and how it hogs system resources. Here's a nice guide for tweaking it in order to get the best results when downloading:
http://www.bootstrike.com/Articles/BitTorrentGuide/

4) Whoever said they didn't have a system for Street Fighter 4....it's coming out for the PC.

every1 knows that dude lol... you dont run scans at the same time, but its fine to have them on your system.
if they do conflict just go into the firewall settings and allow.

Kay, you know you're just digging a deeper hole for yourself, right?

Running two AV scans at once is even MORE retarded than having both on your system. I wasn't even talking about that. Read what I said, DATABASES. IE, QUARANTINED FILES. I didn't say anything about multiple scans.

well my system has no problem having my anti-virus softwares..so why are we discussing this?

( btw yeah...? thats what i just said in my post? @ running scans at once)

++ having just 1 antivirus is dumb aswell... some anti v's cant find some virus's...
eg: AVG cant find most adware based virus's...
but mcaffee & anti-malware can...
mcaffee dont find some keyloggers...
AVG does..
understand?

people can program virus's to get a backdoor behind cirtain anti-virus programs...
hence you have to keep updating them...to stop that..

and usually the updates only happen once you have reported it.. so you already have the virus..

Because you brought up how your system has 'no issues' while I'm telling you, it's bound to happen, if it hasn't already.

( btw yeah...? thats what i just said in my post? @ running scans at once)

....you didn't read it properly, did you? I talked about RUNNING multiple AV programs in my original post. In your response, you assumed I meant SCANNING with multiple AV programs at the same time. In that last post, I told you I wasn't talking about simultaneously scanning with two AV programs. Do you understand yet?

Like I said before, you're digging yourself deeper into the ground.

Adware is NOT a virus. AVG is a VIRUS scanner, hence why it doesn't look for ADWARE.

Mcafee, is a protection suite (And a very bad one at that), so it has other scanners built in to look for more than just viruses. Mcafee can't find some keyloggers because it's just plain garbage.

The bottom line is, and read this carefully so you'll hopefully understand this time around, having more than one AV program installed on your system at the same time is bad because their quarantine systems can overlap. Different AV programs place restrictions on files differently, so when two AV programs conflict with each other, it can cause issues (Sometimes major) with your system, not to mention in most cases, viruses are able to remove themselves OUT of quarantine when these conflicting issues arise.

Well, AVG says Adware is under Spyware.

Anti-Spyware biedt bescherming tegen spyware, adware en andere schadelijke programma's.

>> Anti-Spyware protects against spyware, adware and other dangerous applications.

That's why I said Spyware doesn't equal adware, because not all adware is spyware. It CAN be, but not all. I'd still be using Ad-Aware over AVG's spyware scanner, anyways.
